Croatian Air Force celebrates 35th anniversary of 194th Helicopter Squadron

The 35th anniversary of the 194th Multi-role Helicopter Squadron, a unit of the 91st Wing of the Croatian Air Force, was celebrated at the Lučko Barracks. During the ceremony, awards and commendations were presented to the most deserving members of the squadron, as well as thanks were given to former commanders and personnel for their professional work on the Mi-171Sh helicopter.

Brigadier Davor Turković, commander of the 91st Wing, highlighted the squadron's significant role during the Homeland War and its ongoing contributions to international military operations. He recalled the history of the unit, specifically mentioning the Mi-8 transport helicopter known as ‘stara frajla’, which was captured near Petrinja on September 23, 1991, and subsequently repaired by the Lučko crew.

Major Zvonimir Dalić, commander of the 194th Squadron, emphasized that the 35 years of service represent generations of personnel who built the unit's capabilities and reputation. The ceremony was attended by various high-ranking military officials, including retired Major Generals Vlado Bagarić and Michael Križanec.
