Croatian Army's 1995 Summer Offensive Paved Way for Operation Storm

In late July 1995 the Croatian Army launched Operation Ljeto 95 (Summer 95), an offensive from 25 July to 30 July that secured the Glamoč and Grahovsko regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and opened the route to the strategic town of Knin. The operation involved several Guard brigades, including the 126th Brigade, and was coordinated with earlier Croatian Defence Council (HVO) actions that helped lift the siege of Bihać. Documents released later revealed that senior commanders, including General Bobetko, received orders on 29 June 1995 to commence the offensive. The success of Ljeto 95 set the stage for the larger Operation Storm (Oluja) in early August, which resulted in the capture of Knin and the collapse of the self‑declared Republic of Serbian Krajina.
