Croatian Association of Counties meeting focuses on regional development

During the 77th session of the Executive Board of the Croatian Association of Counties in Zagreb, Minister Nataša Mikuš Žigman emphasized the necessity of stronger connections between counties and cities.

Danijel Marušić, President of the Croatian Association of Counties, reported on the organization's cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds and the Croatian Government. He noted that this partnership was institutionalized through the establishment of the Council for Regional Development, which held its first meeting in Đakovo in July.

Discussions focused on regional development, future investments in affordable housing, waste management, and environmental protection. The session also addressed regional development within the context of the new Law on Regional Development and the Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034. Key topics included the future of cohesion policy, territorial development balance, and the financing of green and digital transitions.
