Croatian athlete Kristian Josip Periš dies at 32

The Croatian athletic community is mourning the death of Kristian Josip Periš, a former national team athlete and member of the Agram Athletics Club. Periš passed away at the age of 32.

Periš specialized in throwing disciplines, specifically shot put and discus. During his career, he achieved significant results, including two titles as Croatian junior vice-champion in throwing events and three bronze medals in senior shot put competitions. He represented the Croatian national athletics team and was a member of the Agram Athletics Club from 2013 to 2021.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Periš held a master's degree in kinesiology and worked as a trainer and masseur. He also gained public recognition in 2023 as a contestant on the RTL music competition ‘Superstar’, where he performed a song by Marko Perković Thompson.
