Croatian athletes hold 5th humanitarian regatta in Split

The fifth edition of the humanitarian regatta ‘Sail with the Croatian Sports Foundation & Rotary’ was held in the waters of Split as part of the 95th Mrduja regatta. The event brought together numerous prominent Croatian Olympians, athletes, donors, and media representatives.

Funds raised through this initiative will be distributed by the Croatian Sports Foundation to support deserving Croatian athletes facing existential, health, housing, or other life difficulties. The Foundation, established by the Croatian Olympic Committee, the Croatian Club of Olympians, and Sportske novosti, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Olympic skier and ACI ambassador Ivica Kostelić served as skipper on one of the three ACI sailboats. Other participants included Petar Metličić, Nikša Kaleb, Josip Reić, Vlado Šola, Damir Polić, Vjekoslav Šafranić, and Karla Šitić. Young rowing talents Roko Bošković and Goran Mahmutović also participated, marking their first experience in sailing alongside Olympic champion Damir Martin.
