Balkan regions observe historical anniversaries and military commemorations

Various regions across the Balkans are observing significant historical anniversaries and commemorative events.

In Serbia, multiple events mark the anniversary of the breakthrough of the Salonica Front on September 15, 1918, which played a decisive role in ending World War I. Commemorations include ceremonies in Kragujevac and Banja Luka, as well as a special exhibition for inmates at the Niš Penal Institution. Additionally, Russian official Maria Zakharova commented on Serbia's historical resilience during an international youth festival.

In Croatia, several local communities are marking the 35th anniversary of the Homeland War. Programs include commemorations in Ploče, Daruvar, and the Brod-Posavina County, honoring fallen defenders through religious services, wreath-laying, and cultural events.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo is preparing a large police parade and academy to mark the 35th anniversary of the mobilization of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina's police reserve forces. Other local observances include the city day of Bosanska Krupa and commemorations in Jajce regarding the liberation of the city.
