Croatian Cultural Centre in Bitola Marks Croatia's Statehood Day with Music and Theatre

The Croatian Cultural Centre "Marko Marulić" in Bitola, North Macedonia, organised a two‑day celebration of the Republic of Croatia’s Statehood Day. The programme included a performance by the Dalmatian klapa "Cetinjani" from Hrvati and a comedy by the Sinj Folk Theatre. Local students from the State Music School took part, singing and playing piano under the direction of their teachers.

Centre director Dr. Branko Maretić highlighted the significance of the 36th anniversary of Croatia’s sovereignty, noting the country's UN, EU and NATO membership. Event spokesperson Neda Maretić emphasized renewed cooperation with the city of Split, citing a recent agreement with the Split library and a cultural partnership with the National and University Library "Sv. Kliment Ohridski" in Bitola. The festivities also featured folklore groups and celebrated UNESCO‑protected klapa singing, underscoring the longstanding cultural links between Croatia and North Macedonia.
