Croatian cultural works presented in Split and Budapest

In Split, the Croatian Emigrants Institute presented the digital edition of ‘Čuvarice niti: 25 priča o hrvatskoj baštini’ (Guardians of the Plot). The collection features 25 stories about Croatian heritage told by women living in Latin America. Originally published in Spanish and Portuguese, the Croatian translation aims to connect the global Croatian diaspora through shared stories of identity, language, and tradition.

Meanwhile, the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Zagreb performed the production ‘Zastave’ (Flags), based on the novel by Miroslav Krleža, at the National Theatre in Budapest. Directed by Ivan Planinić, the performance utilizes drama, ballet, and live music to explore themes of national myths, political divisions, and personal identity. The production was noted for its ability to communicate Krleža’s historical context to an international audience.
