Croatian Customs auctions seized alcohol and beer

The Croatian Customs Administration is conducting public auctions to sell large quantities of seized goods, including alcohol and beer.

One auction features approximately 4,000 liters of domestic brandy (rakija) and 243 liters of macerate, with a starting price of 1.20 euros per liter and a total value of roughly 5,091 euros. Buyers are required to provide their own packaging and must undergo a mandatory redestillation process, which will be monitored by the relevant excise office through monthly reports.

Additionally, the administration is auctioning 3,456 cans of Nektar beer (totaling 1,728 liters) that were seized during a smuggling attempt at the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The starting price for the beer is 0.50 euros per can, with a total value of 1,728 euros.

These sales follow intensified customs operations aimed at combating illegal production and smuggling, which have resulted in numerous seizures and significant fines for unregistered producers throughout the year.
