Končar secures €320 million loan for investment cycle and reports record profit
Končar Group signed a €320 million project loan with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Privredna Banka Zagreb and Zagrebačka Banka. Together with €50 million of its own capital, the financing will fund a €370 million investment programme to expand and modernise production capacity, develop new technologies and increase output of key electro‑energy equipment and infrastructure. The loan agreement was signed by Končar President Gordan Kolak and senior bank officials.
In the first half of the year Končar reported net profit of €171.4 million, a 32.6 % increase year‑on‑year. Consolidated revenues rose 14.6 % to €766.6 million, with export sales reaching €516.5 million (71.2 % of total sales). The company secured new orders worth over €1 billion and its order book grew to more than €2.9 billion. Kolak highlighted strong global demand for electro‑energy equipment and the robustness of the investment cycle.
The financing and the strong financial results underline Končar’s role as a major industrial and technology partner in Europe’s energy transition.
