Croatian Government Extends Earthquake Relief Measures

The Croatian cabinet approved a six‑month extension, until the end of 2026, of aid for residents of the Sisak‑Moslavina, Zagreb and Karlovac counties affected by the recent earthquake. Measures include writing off electricity and heating bills, cancelling the public broadcaster (RTV) fee, and covering costs for temporary accommodation and utility connections. The government also prolonged free use of the A11 Zagreb‑Sisak highway and free train services for affected residents and emergency personnel, allocating about €4.5 million for these transport benefits. Energy‑related reimbursements are estimated at up to €500 000.

In addition, the cabinet gave consent for co‑financing a music school project in Metković, valued at €3.04 million and scheduled for a 24‑month construction period. The same session saw the submission of final justice‑sector legislative proposals, aiming to accelerate judicial appointments and increase fines for traffic violations.
