Croatian Health Partnerships Expand Access to Care

The Craftsmanship Chamber of Primorsko‑Goranska County and the private MEDICO hospital signed a cooperation agreement that gives chamber members, their families and employees a 10 % discount on hospital services and reduced prices for systematic health‑check packages – for example, a basic check‑up is now €160 instead of €237. The deal was signed by chamber president Dr. Emil Priskić and acting MEDICO director Dr. Aron Grubešić and aims to make preventive care more affordable for about 12,500 local tradespeople.

Separately, Croatia’s Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Health of Bosnia and Herzegovina concluded a cross‑border emergency‑medicine pact. Ministers Irena Hrstić and Nediljko Rimac endorsed protocols that allow life‑threatened Croatian patients from the Dubrovnik‑Neretva and Split‑Dalmatia regions to be transported to and treated around the clock at the University Clinical Hospital in Mostar. The agreement builds on a previous arrangement that has already saved numerous lives.

Both agreements reflect a broader effort to improve regional health access through public‑private and international cooperation.
