Croatian libraries roll out summer programs and VR upgrade in Vukovar

The City Library of Zadar has published a week‑long programme for 20‑25 August 2026. Activities include blood‑pressure and blood‑sugar measurements by nurses from the local health centre, a "Safer Internet" workshop for children aged 7‑14, an "Emoji detectives" session on digital communication, and various art and craft workshops for primary‑school children.

On 20 August, the Bibliobus service in Vukovar‑Srijem celebrated its 20th anniversary. The event marked the launch of a new virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) project, funded with €4,000 from the county and the Ministry of Culture. Ten Meta Quest 3S headsets will be installed in the mobile library to expand digital literacy, aligning with Eurostat data that 89.1 % of Croatian youths (16‑24) possess basic digital skills, well above the EU average.
