Croatian libraries roll out summer programs in Zadar and Fratar

The City Library of Zadar announced a schedule of activities for the week of 29 June‑4 July 2026. Events include free blood‑pressure and blood‑sugar checks by nurses from the Zadar County Health Center, a Macedonian artists exhibition, workshops on the Arbëresh language for primary‑school children, and a marine‑ecosystem education session titled “Poseidon’s Message from the Deep”. The programme also features daily reading sessions, LEGO building, and ecological workshops for youngsters.

On 29 June, a summer “Book on the Sun” library was opened on Fratar Island by the Pula City Library in partnership with local organisations. The opening was marked by author Brane Jaković presenting his book Moje dubioze. The pop‑up library offers free, no‑membership borrowing of books and is part of a broader initiative to provide seasonal reading points on beaches and islands throughout Croatia.
