Croatian Lottery earmarks €63,000 for veteran associations

The Croatian Lottery announced a draw to allocate €63,000 in support of associations of veterans of the Homeland War. The draw, conducted by lottery host Maja Kolak in the presence of a commission that included a Ministry of Finance representative, took place ahead of Victory Day, the Day of Homeland Gratitude and the Day of Croatian Veterans.

A total of 121 applications were received from all Croatian counties and the City of Zagreb; 103 met the formal eligibility criteria. The funding scheme allows up to three associations per county, with each association eligible for a maximum of €1,000. The money is intended for projects that commemorate important war anniversaries, promote the truth about the war, educate young people about its values, and document and protect historical heritage. After an administrative verification of the selected applications, the Lottery will publish the final list of beneficiary associations.
