Croatian mandatory pension funds report net asset growth and strong returns in June

The net assets of Croatia’s mandatory pension funds (OMF) reached €28.7 bn at the end of June, a rise of €449 m (1.6%) from the previous month, according to the Croatian Financial Services Agency (Hanfa). The funds served 2.413 million members, with net contributions of €171.5 m and payouts of €80.4 m during the month.

In the first half of the year, Erste Plavi’s top A‑category fund delivered a 13.15% return, holding assets worth over €211 m, 62.24% of which were invested abroad. The fund’s portfolio was composed of 37.28% equities, 30.81% bonds and 20.17% investment funds. Overall OMF asset allocation shifted slightly toward equities, which made up 26.1% (€7.5 bn) of total holdings, while bonds remained dominant at 55.2% (€15.9 bn). Domestic equities accounted for 14.9% of the equity share and foreign equities 11.2%.

Hanfa also reported positive annualized returns for its Mirex benchmarks: Mirex A up 9.16%, Mirex B up 5.70% and Mirex C up 3.19% since the start of the year.
