Croatian military and police pensions rise by €420 over six years
Around 16,300 active‑duty military personnel, police officers and other authorised officials in Croatia receive pensions that average €950 per month. The average pension has increased from €526 in 2020, a rise of €424. The highest payouts are for old‑age retirees at €1,010, while the lowest average amounts go to disability pensioners at €889. Men represent 85 % of pensioners, with 13,926 male beneficiaries compared with 2,374 female.
Pension eligibility is set at age 65 with at least 15 years of contributions, though early retirement is possible from age 60 with 35 years of service, subject to reduced contribution periods. These figures come from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO).
