Croatian Minister Tomo Medved Praises Security Response to Hacker

Minister of Veterans Tomo Medved praised the Republic of Croatia's security and intelligence community and the broader homeland security system for its handling of a case involving a Serbian citizen, 33‑year‑old Georgije V., suspected of serious cyber attacks and unauthorized access to the computer systems of several Croatian companies and public authorities. The Zagreb County State Attorney's Office investigated the suspect on 30 July, concluded there was sufficient evidence of the alleged offenses, and asked the court to impose pre‑trial detention on grounds of flight risk, obstruction of justice and repeat offending. The investigating judge accepted the request and ordered investigative detention.

Medved said the system acted in accordance with the law, as it has done in previous cases, and will continue to do so, emphasizing the vigilance of the security and intelligence services.
