Croatian MP Josip Jurčević Sets Record for Parliamentary Speeches

Independent MP Josip Jurčević, a member of the MOST club, spoke 530 times on the floor of the Croatian Sabor during its spring session, which ran from 15 January to 15 July and covered 84 plenary days. This averages more than six interventions per day, making him the most vocal parliamentarian in that period.

He is followed by Damir Barbir (Centar) with 452 interventions and IDS member Dalibor Paus with 342. Six MPs, including MOST’s Marin Miletić (260 speeches) and GLAS’s Anka Mrak‑Taritaš (253), exceeded 200 spoken turns. Overall, 150 deputies logged a total of 10,165 interventions up to 1 July, with 23 members speaking more than 100 times. The data also record 2,155 procedural violations noted by the Sabor president.
