Croatian municipal councils approve reconstruction funding and raise cemetery fees

The Budinščina municipal council voted unanimously to take on long‑term borrowing in 2026 to complete reconstruction of the local DVD building and a community home in Gotalovac. The funds will be used temporarily for the projects, with repayment to the bank after ministry disbursements, and interest will be paid for the roughly three‑month period of use.

In the neighboring municipality of Sveti Juraj na Bregu, council members also voted unanimously to update the cemetery fee schedule. Fees for allocating and maintaining burial plots were increased and rounded to whole euros, with a one‑time fee of €100 for a single plot (up from €79.63) and an annual maintenance charge of €10 per plot (up from €4.65). The new rates will take effect from the next calendar year.
