Croatian municipalities celebrate city days and development plans
Municipalities in Croatia celebrated their respective city days, focusing on long-term development and economic diversification.
In Preko, officials marked the Municipality Day and the feast of Saint Michael. Mayor Jure Brižić emphasized the goal of creating conditions that allow residents to live, work, and raise families on the island year-round, rather than letting the community become a mere backdrop of seasonal apartments. Council President Jasminka Luštica noted that development efforts aim to meet the needs of all generations.
Šibenik also celebrated its city day and the feast of Saint Michael with religious processions and masses. Mayor Željko Burić highlighted that the city's economy is built on multiple sectors beyond tourism, including a strong craft scene with over 2,000 artisans and significant industrial activity. Notably, the company Zagreb-montaža is investing 10 million euros into expanding its plant to serve international markets, including Germany and Switzerland, while also exploring opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
