Croatian museums host major contemporary art exhibitions in Pula and Zagreb
The Museum of Contemporary Art Istria in Pula opened a solo exhibition by designer Dean Skira, titled “Skira & Lumenart: In the Shadow of Light”. The show features award‑winning product designs, installations, video and photography, marking 35 years of Skira’s work and the 20‑year anniversary of his “House of Light”. It runs until 23 August and is supported by the Istrian County cultural department, the Croatian Ministry of Culture, the City of Pula and other sponsors.
Meanwhile, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb inaugurated the 14th edition of the biennial Organ Vida festival. The opening featured five exhibitions, including works by Julie Béne, Kevin Osepe, Sara De Brito Faustino and Paula Tončić, exploring themes of online life, surveillance, digital overload and fake news. The festival also hosts a panel discussion and the launch of the publication “The Vibes Are Off”, which examines humor, ugliness and online aesthetic as critical approaches in visual culture.
