Croatian Olympic Committee signs partnership with Olympic Council of Asia
The Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), making it the first European Olympic committee to establish a formalized partnership with the continental Asian association.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Nagoya by OCA President Prince Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani and HOO President Dr. Josip Varvodić. The partnership focuses on strategic development projects, including coach exchange programs, specialized athlete training, and specific camps for both individual and collective sports.
Additionally, the agreement includes support for planning and implementing competitions, assistance with HOO educational programs, and the exploration of joint funding for strategic sports preparation projects. Dr. Varvodić noted that the partnership leverages Asia's growing geopolitical and sporting influence, particularly in technology and infrastructure.
