Croatian parishes celebrate 50th anniversaries

Multiple Croatian parishes recently marked their 50th anniversaries with religious and cultural ceremonies.

In the Dalmatian village of Široke, the Primošten Stanovi Parish celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Church of Saint Jerome. The event, organized by the Matica hrvatska branch in Primošten, included the presentation of a monograph dedicated to the parish. Representatives from the Čakovec branch of Matica hrvatska attended, highlighting the cultural and touristic connections between different Croatian regions through the shared veneration of Saint Jerome.

In Donja Lomnica, the Parish of the Holy Three Kings celebrated its 50th anniversary with an outdoor Eucharistic celebration led by Archbishop Dražen Kutleša of Zagreb. The ceremony was attended by local clergy and officials, including Krešimir Ačkar. During his homily, Archbishop Kutleša emphasized the importance of the present moment and the necessity of turning faith into action through prayer and helping those in need.
