Croatian Parliament to debate professional qualification updates

The Croatian Parliament is set to discuss amendments to the Law on Regulated Professions and the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications. The proposed changes target the minimum training requirements and educational program content for four specific professions: general nursing, dental medicine, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine.

The updates aim to align training with rapid developments in healthcare and veterinary sciences, as well as increasing digitalization in professional practice. By integrating the latest scientific findings and technological innovations, the proposal seeks to ensure professionals meet current market and public interest needs while enhancing service safety. Furthermore, harmonizing these standards is intended to facilitate the free movement of professionals within the European Union through the automatic recognition of qualifications.

Additionally, the Parliament will conclude the week by discussing a proposal to ratify the agreement establishing and managing the Multilateral Investment Fund IV (MIF). As part of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, the fund supports private sector development in Latin America and the Caribbean, aiming to foster economic growth and productivity in developing member states.
