Croatian police focus on youth road safety and scooter regulations

Police in Croatia are increasing focus on road safety for children and minors, involving both enforcement and educational initiatives.

In Slavonski Brod, officers seized an electric scooter from a 14-year-old who was traveling at 57 km/h. The vehicle was confiscated because its motor power exceeds 0.6 kW and its speed exceeds the 25 km/h limit for legal personal transport devices. An indictment is being filed against the minor, and police have issued an appeal to parents to avoid purchasing high-powered, non-compliant scooters that endanger children.

In Dubrovnik, traffic police are conducting preventive education sessions for children. During a summer camp in Gospino Polje, officers held lectures for young participants on pedestrian safety, crossing roads correctly, and navigating traffic lights to foster responsible behavior and road culture.
