Croatian Red Cross runs blood donation drives in Zagreb’s Sesvete and on Krk island
On 21 July 2026 the Zagreb City Red Cross organized a voluntary blood‑donation event at the Dom obrtnika in Sesvete, inviting healthy adults aged 18‑65. The drive seeks to offset the usual summer shortfall in blood supplies and offers participants free health checks, paid leave, supplemental insurance and free public transport in Zagreb.
A week earlier a similar campaign at the Dom zdravlja Krk attracted 110 volunteers, with 99 completing donations, including four first‑time donors. Organisers stressed that regular donations are essential for maintaining the blood reserves needed by hospitals, especially during the peak tourist season.
