Croatian rowers claim three bronzes at European Championships in Varese
At the European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy, Croatian athletes earned three bronze medals. Ivan Talaja, rowing for VK Biokovo, secured a bronze in the men's quadruple sculls, joining teammates Goran Mahmutović, Roko Bošković and Damir Martin. The crew finished with a time of 5:40.40, ahead of Romania.
Brothers Martin and Valent Sinković added two more bronzes. They placed third in the men's double sculls with a time of 6:08.35, behind the Serbian pair of Martin Mačković/Nikolaj Pimenov and the Spanish crew of Rodrigo Conde Romero/Caetan Xosé Horte Pombe. The same four‑man crew that included Talaja also earned bronze in the quadruple sculls, confirming Croatia’s strong performance across multiple boat classes.
The results highlight Croatia’s resurgence in elite rowing following recent successes at World Cup events and set the stage for the upcoming World Championships in Amsterdam.
