Croatian sports clubs begin preseason preparations
Handball club Dubovac-Gaza has begun preparations for the new 1. HRL Jug season. Coach Matko Horvat outlined a five-week training plan that includes four friendly matches against Bjelovar, Zapršić, Černomelj, and Mornar Sikvenica. The squad has seen changes, including the departure of Dujmić and the arrivals of Jure Bubalo, Erik Klobučić, and the return of Luka Prezelj. The club has also strengthened its coaching staff with the addition of Sandro Obranović and Ivan Pavlaković Musa. The team aims to improve upon its recent sixth-place finishes.
In Osijek, the local volleyball club is also entering its second week of intensive training under new coach Miodrag Stojaković. The squad, consisting of approximately 20 players, is integrating members of the national championship-winning cadet selection. While the team has lost several key players, including Nika Županić who moved to the US, they have added Ksenija Perić from Partizan Belgrade. The club plans to play 10 to 12 friendly matches, including an international tournament in September, with the goal of maintaining its position in the super league.
