Croatian Study Examines Adolescent Development and Parenting Habits

Researchers at the Croatian Catholic University have launched the CASCADE project to investigate how cognitive and social abilities develop from adolescence into early adulthood. The study recruits participants aged 14 to 35 for laboratory tasks, including EEG recordings, to map brain activity during attention, memory and decision‑making exercises.

Separately, psychologists have outlined eleven everyday habits that signal effective parental upbringing, such as the use of positive affirmations, regular supportive contact with family and friends, and calm conflict‑resolution skills. These habits are linked to higher emotional intelligence and better self‑regulation in adulthood, offering practical guidance for families.
