Croatian theatres announce new seasonal premieres

Several new theatrical productions are set to premiere in Croatia this week. In Bjelovar, the City Theatre House begins its new season on October 2 with a guest performance by the Rijeka HNK Ivana pl. Zajca. The production, titled ‘Tri sestre, ja’, offers a contemporary interpretation of Anton Chekhov’s ‘Three Sisters’, featuring music by Damir Urban and live performance by guitarist Luka Toman.

In Zagreb, the Zagreb Puppet Theatre (ZKL) will premiere ‘Kako živi Antuntun’ on October 2. Directed by Petra Mrduljaš, the play is based on the famous poem by Grigor Vitez. The production features set design and puppet work by Milan Trenc and music by Šimun Matišić, exploring themes of imagination and freedom through a whimsical lens.
