Croatian towns host memorial football tournaments for fallen players

In the village of Belica, a 12th edition of the "Ivan Makar – Mali" memorial football tournament was held on 20 June. Six teams, including MNK Belica and NK BSK Belica – veterani, gathered on an artificial‑grass pitch to honour the late local player Ivan Makar, whose parents attended the event.

Meanwhile, the town of Mrkoplj organized the inaugural two‑day "Robert Semion" memorial tournament on the Pod Čelimbaš field. NK Mrkopalj hosted matches against NK Grobničan, NK Risnjak Lokve, and NK Rječina, with a free warm meal for participants and a post‑final celebration featuring the Sušilo Band. Both events were supported by local sponsors and aimed to keep the memory of the deceased friends alive within the community.
