Croatian towns Velika Gorica and Ludbreg record surge in tourist arrivals and overnight stays

The latest eVisitor data shows Zagreb County recorded 85,349 arrivals and 148,073 overnight stays, surpassing the previous year’s figures. Velika Gorica contributed nearly 50,000 nights and grew by more than 7%, confirming its status as the county’s leading tourist destination. Domestic guests increased by over 8%, the average stay rose to 1.73 nights and more than 80% of visitors arrived solo. Nearby municipalities also saw growth, with Jastrebarsko reaching over 24,000 nights, Samobor over 18,000, and notable percentage increases in Zaprešić, Sveti Ivan Zelina and other locales. International markets from the United States, United Kingdom and Switzerland posted double‑digit growth.

In the town of Ludbreg, 2025 saw 7,248 arrivals and 21,880 overnight stays, up 11% and 17% respectively compared with 2024. Relative to 2021, arrivals are roughly two‑thirds higher and nights have more than doubled. The municipal tourism development program has awarded 21 subsidies worth €28,839, primarily to improve accommodation quality and support local tourism entrepreneurs, fostering continued growth in visitor numbers and length of stay.
