Croatian veterans demand regulations for foreign performers

The Association of Croatian Veterans (UHB RH) has called on state institutions to implement strict criteria and mandatory checks for the public activities of foreign performers before they are engaged in Croatia.

The association is urging the government to adopt regulations that would prohibit the entry of artists who spread hatred or intolerance, glorify criminals, support aggressive war-mongering policies, or fail to recognize the crimes committed against Croatia. They specifically noted that such individuals often receive financial gain and public platforms through performances approved at regional and local levels.

In their appeal, the veterans cited several figures, including Miroslav Ilić, Lepa Brena, Momčilo Bajagić-Bajaga, and Dejan Medaković, alleging they have previously incited hatred against the Croatian nation. The group stated they are not seeking censorship, but rather accountability, emphasizing that it is better to verify an artist's background before providing them with stage, money, and space in the country.
