Croatian vocal groups achieve success at international music festivals

Croatian vocal groups have achieved notable success at international music festivals. The Karlovac-based choir PHZP ‘Zora’ is participating in the Prague Music Festival in the Czech Republic. The group is scheduled for two performances: a short program at the Municipal Library in central Prague and a thirty-minute concert at the Church of San Salvatore.

In Portorož, the vocal group Umole and the newly formed Klapa Fjok from Pula secured gold medals at the ‘Chorus inside’ international choral competition. Umole won the A1 category for traditional mixed group singing with 29 out of 30 points, while Klapa Fjok took the gold in the A3 category for traditional female groups with 28 out of 30 points. As the only Croatian representatives, both groups received invitations from the jury to participate in next year’s festival in Palermo.
