Croatia's A‑Minus Credit Rating Confirmed by Fitch Amid Growth and Fiscal Discipline

Fitch Ratings confirmed Croatia’s sovereign credit rating at A‑minus with a stable outlook. The agency highlighted the country’s strong economic growth and solid fiscal discipline, noting that public debt as a share of GDP is expected to stabilise in the medium term. However, Fitch warned that Croatia’s small, tourism‑dependent economy remains vulnerable to external shocks, and that price competitiveness has weakened. Structural challenges such as low productivity growth and rapidly rising wages were identified as potential constraints.

Fitch projects GDP growth of about 2.4 % in 2024, accelerating to 3.4 % in 2025, and expects investment to stay robust, driven largely by EU recovery funds. The Croatian government welcomed the rating, describing it as evidence of responsible economic policy and a signal of reliability to international investors.
