Croatia's Economy Minister visits China to boost investment and nuclear cooperation

Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar conducted a six-day official visit to the People's Republic of China from October 20 to 26. The visit focused on attracting investments into Croatian manufacturing capacities, strengthening the presence of Croatian companies in the Chinese market, and developing energy cooperation, specifically regarding nuclear energy.

During the visit, Šušnjar participated in the 7th China-Central and Eastern Europe SME Cooperation Forum in Cangzhou. He met with high-level Chinese officials, including the acting Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xiong Jijun and Deputy Minister of Commerce Ling Ji, to discuss connecting Croatian firms with Chinese partners and expanding exports in advanced manufacturing and innovative technologies.

In the energy sector, the Minister held discussions with leaders from SPIC, SNPTC, and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) regarding nuclear project experiences, knowledge transfer, and specialist training. These efforts align with Croatia's preparation of its National Industrial Development Plan for the 2027–2034 period. Additionally, preparations are underway for a Croatian delegation of 37 companies to attend the CIIE fair in November.
