Croatia's Karlovac and Rijeka host summer cultural concerts
Karlovac celebrated its 447th birthday on June 29 2026 with a festive concert organized by the amateur cultural association ZOAKD. The event featured local folklore ensembles, dance clubs and a tamburica section, and was highlighted by president Marjana Martinac, who said the concert “brings together generations of citizens to enjoy music and dance.”
A week later, on July 3 2026, Rijeka premiered the theatre‑music project “Serenade ljetne noći” in the garden of the Astronomical Centre. The performance, written by Karlo Hubak, combined five retired residents with the Rijeka Symphony Orchestra, playing Dvořák’s “Serenade for Winds” under Hubak’s direction.
Both events are part of the broader summer cultural programme in Croatia, showcasing amateur and professional artists across the country.
