Croatia's towns celebrate summer with cultural festivals

The municipality of Jelenje and Visit Jelenje are hosting the Mlikarica festival on Saturday, 18 July. The day‑long event commemorates the historic milkmaids of Grobnišćina with a traditional walk, local gastronomy featuring Kvarner specialties, performances by Klape Dišpet, KUD Zvir Jelenje and Cvetana Linić, a film premiere about the milkmaids, and an evening concert by the popular group Vigor.

In Karlovac, the week‑long "Zvjezdano ljeto" celebration runs until 13 July, marking the city’s 447th anniversary. The program includes free concerts, folk and dance festivals, international culinary stalls, a tribute to Nikola Tesla, and a closing birthday ball. The finale features a concert by Jelena Rozga, concluding the summer series after a series of cultural, musical and sporting events across the city.
