Croatia's 'Zlatni val' program provides free summer activities for seniors
The 'Zlatni val' project, co‑financed by the European Social Fund and the Croatian state budget, offers a series of free summer activities for retirees and people aged 55+ in Rijeka. On 14 August participants attend a "Cyber pensioners" workshop to learn mobile‑phone photography, followed by a computer‑basics session on 25 August covering file management and data transfer between phones and PCs.
Additional programmes include four SUP (stand‑up paddle) water‑training groups, guided visits to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art featuring the exhibition "Radikalna subjektivnost: Katalin Ladik and Tomaso Binga," and a cultural club tour of the Croatian Cultural Centre on Sušak. An information kiosk provides details on all activities. All events are free but require prior registration due to limited places, with applications accepted via the Centre for Technical Culture Rijeka website.
