CROC union threatens strikes at 10 Quintana Roo hotels

The Confederation of Mexican Workers (CROC) has issued an ultimatum to 10 hotels and one restaurant in northern Quintana Roo, setting October 19, 2026, as the potential start date for strikes. The labor dispute centers on the revision of collective bargaining agreements, specifically regarding worker wages and benefits.

The affected establishments are located across various tourist destinations, including Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, and Costa Mujeres. Notable hotels involved in the proceedings include Grand Riviera Princess, Viva Wyndham Maya, Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, H10 Ocean Riviera Paradise, Grand Palladium Costa, and Royal Hideaway Riviera Maya.

The Chetumal Labor Court authorized the postponement of the strike start date from October 15 to October 19 following conciliation hearings. While some delays were requested by the union affiliated with CROC, others were agreed upon by both the union and the hotel management to allow for continued negotiations.
