Croce Rossa dei Sibillini concludes intensive summer service season

The Italian Red Cross Sibillini Committee has concluded an intensive summer season providing medical assistance and emergency services across the mountain territories of the Ascoli Piceno and Fermo provinces.

In August alone, the organization recorded 62 emergency interventions, 48 scheduled services, and 32 private services, totaling approximately 400 service hours. Since March, volunteers have provided medical presence at over 50 public events, including 23 during August.

A notable part of the summer season was a pilot program providing 13 free night shifts to support the 118 emergency center in Ascoli Piceno. Committee President Valeria Corbelli described the experiment as a positive effort to gather data for developing more effective organizational models in the future.

To conclude the season, the committee held a gathering in Comunanza where a ‘red bench’ was inaugurated. Created by artist Giuseppe Fioravanti, the wooden bench serves as a symbol to raise awareness against violence against women and femicide. Looking ahead, the committee plans to continue its presence at autumn events and will launch monthly first aid courses in October.
