Crocodile Fatal Attack at Puerto Vallarta Resort Beach
A 28‑year‑old man, Irving Mauricio of Mexico City, was killed on Friday evening after a crocodile seized him on the beach in front of the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa and dragged him about 300 metres out to sea. Police recovered his body the following morning. Local authorities have urged tourists to respect warning signs, avoid water near mangroves and estuaries, and keep a safe distance from wildlife.
Earlier, videos circulated of another crocodile walking along the sand and entering the water near popular tourist spots such as Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta and Playa Esmeralda. No injuries were reported. Officials advised the public not to approach the reptiles, refrain from feeding or moving them, and to report sightings to civil protection or environmental authorities.
