Cronulla Sharks branded bus rescued from pond near Mudgee, Australia
On August 5, a Cronulla Sharks NRL team‑branded bus became stuck in a pond at The Cellar by Gilbert just outside Mudgee, New South Wales, after the driver attempted to turn around in darkness. A tow truck could not free the vehicle, so Central West Cranes was called in. The company deployed a 100‑tonne crane with a 40‑tonne spreader bar to lift the bus upright and return it to the road. Owner Rob Cini said it was a first‑of‑its‑kind job for the crew, noting they have handled other recoveries such as truck and dozer rollovers. A Sharks representative confirmed the bus, which is hired for tourist transport, carried no players or staff at the time of the incident.
