Cronulla Sharks defeat North Queensland Cowboys in NRL elimination final

The Cronulla Sharks defeated the North Queensland Cowboys 26-16 in an NRL elimination final at Allianz Stadium.

Braydon Trindall played a pivotal role for the Sharks despite playing with a dislocated shoulder. Trindall provided key tactical kicking and recorded his 31st assist of the season by setting up a decisive try for Will Kennedy. Sione Katoa contributed two tries during the match, while Siosifa Talakai scored the opening try and completed seven tackles.

The Cowboys, who saw several players return for the match including Jeremiah Nanai and Griffin Neame, struggled to contain Cronulla's momentum. The Sharks dominated possession early in the game, holding 79 per cent of the ball in the opening 20 minutes. The loss ends the Cowboys' season, while the Sharks advance to face the winner of the Penrith Panthers and Sydney Roosters matchup.
