Cronulla Sharks player questions NRL finals venue decisions
Cronulla Sharks player Cameron McInnes has expressed concern regarding the potential for the NRL to deny the club a home finals match at Shark Park. Despite the Sharks securing a week-one elimination match, there is ongoing debate regarding the suitability of Shark Park due to its 15,000-seat capacity, which is the lowest among regular NRL venues.
McInnes noted that the NRL maintains discretion over finals venues and suggested that rule changes often occur unexpectedly. The venue has previously been deemed unfit for later rounds of the finals, and there are concerns that the league may favor larger stadiums like Allianz Stadium or Accor Stadium to maximize ticket revenue.
