Crop-dusting aircraft crashes in Entre Ríos, Argentina
A crop-dusting aircraft crashed in a rural field in the Perdices area of Gualeguaychú, Entre Ríos, while performing fertilization tasks. The incident occurred near kilometer 25 of Autovía 14, close to Estancia Las Marías.
The pilot, a 56-year-old man from Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, survived the impact but sustained a pulmonary contusion and other minor injuries. He was rescued by neighbors and emergency services, including the Ceibas Volunteer Firefighters, and remains in stable condition in intensive care at the Hospital Centenario de Gualeguaychú.
Following the crash, the aircraft experienced a small fire that was successfully contained by firefighters. Authorities and police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, with mechanical failure being considered a preliminary hypothesis. Video footage captured the moments immediately preceding the impact.
