Cross Colours launches campaign celebrating Divine Nine and HBCU culture
Streetwear brand Cross Colours has launched a new campaign titled ‘D9: For The Culture 2.0’ to celebrate the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the Divine Nine Greek-letter organizations.
Co-created by Ray Cunningham of Virginia State University and Kadeem Pilgrim of Hampton University, the campaign features prominent figures such as Brandy, MC Lyte, and Yo Yo. The initiative aims to highlight the cultural influence and style of Black Greek-letter organizations through a mix of vintage and contemporary fashion.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1989, Cross Colours has a history of using socially conscious messaging and bold aesthetics to connect with hip-hop culture. This latest collaboration, presented by Black Radiance Beauty and the Black Design Collective, seeks to bridge the gap between fashion and the community's heritage.
