Cross-country running events announced in Hoorn and Heerderstrand

Athletics club A.V. Hollandia has announced the Parkcross in Hoorn, scheduled for October 25, 2026. This event serves as the official opening of the All4Running Crosscircuit, a series of five races held in the North Holland region. The competition includes various age categories, ranging from youth races of 1,000 meters to senior men's races covering 7,800 meters.

In Heerderstrand, the HG Cross will also take place. Organizers have opted to keep the event entirely free for spectators, stating that their goal is to provide a quality experience for participants and the public rather than generating profit. The event is supported by a volunteer association of 60 members and local entrepreneurs who provide equipment. Notably, the junior winner will receive 100 kilograms of pepernoten as a prize, inspired by traditions seen in other regional races.
