Cross River State launches disability data survey
The Cross River State Government has launched a statewide survey targeting persons with disabilities to improve inclusive planning and resource allocation. Flagged off in Calabar by Governor Bassey Otu, the two-day exercise aims to gather reliable data to identify barriers in healthcare, education, employment, and social services.
Governor Otu emphasized that accurate information is essential for effective policy development, noting that persons with disabilities contribute significantly to the state's economy as professionals, entrepreneurs, and students. The State Statistician-General, Akedoh Edet, stated the findings will provide the evidence necessary for informed decision-making and the design of appropriate government interventions.
